A Fully-Fuelled Weekend for Croyland Car Megastore

Objective: To increase footfall and sales during a quieter sales period 

We helped our client Croyland Car Megastore have a record-breaking weekend thanks to a creative, fun and punchy marketing campaign called the ‘Real Deal.’

The Real Deal’s creative concept was a parody of the universally known ‘golden arches’; swapping happy meals for ‘wheel deals’ to provide eye-catching and impactful messages across all advertising and marketing collateral. 

The enticing offer saw the Rushden-based car dealer providing up to £1,000 deposit contribution on a selected range of vehicles, plus competitive flexible finance options. To seal the deal, Croyland Car Megastore also offered to waive its administration fee of £99 and donated it to charity instead! This is being given to the UK’s leading cancer charity, Children with Cancer UK, to help raise invaluable funds in the fight against childhood cancer.

A full digital take over of the local newspaper’s website, the Herald and Post, was used as a great online shop window for the event.

A digital takeover is a superb way to promote a brand or an event as it dominates the webpage. It’s extremely hard-hitting and simply can’t be missed.

The online campaign was also backed up by a physical banner campaign on the forecourt. We provided all the artwork and designs for the banners used to promote the event to passers by. The weekend offers were posted on the Croyland Car Megastore website with a full list of the cars available. Plus, an e-shot was circulated to all previous customers so they were aware of the great offers over the weekend.

As the deal started on 1st April it was essential to make sure the public realised this was no April Fool! This reassurance was included in the email and web copy to ensure potential buyers weren’t put off by the quirky date!


With any campaign the outcome has to be measured so its level of success can be assessed.
Here are the numbers which demonstrate an increase of 35 percent in car sales!
