Our Brief

To design, produce and install, two giant Christmas Cards for display during the festive period in a high footfall shopping centre.

The key objectives were to increase dwell time and encourage social interaction amongst shoppers. Shoppers then had the chance of winning daily prizes if they shared their photo on social media. The Cards also had to deliver a great wow factor! The Glades Shopping Centre required a creative agency to deliver the initial concept quickly, on budget and within the timescale.

The Solution

We love a first here at Rocket Creative and were excited to work through the initial concept to realise how the Cards could look and deliver on all fronts.

Firstly, the Cards had to be designed in such a way, so that after the initial Christmas campaign, they could then be re-purposed for on-going activities and stored on site when not in use.

Secondly, the Cards had to be manufactured from suitable materials, fixtures and fittings, whilst adhering to the Shopping Centre’s fire and health & safety policies.

To achieve the above, the Cards underwent rigorous testing during the build from our highly skilled technicians to ensure the Cards were fit for purpose and delivered in terms of perspective and quality.

Rocket also sourced relevant props, theming and lighting to complement the artwork and add that Christmas wow factor.

For the install, we set our energy-packed elves to work late one night before Christmas, who deployed a high level of activity to construct the Cards whilst adhering to elf and safety at all times.
