Making a Christmas wish
This season, Rocket has been working alongside Nene Court to help coordinate a variety of events in the run up to Christmas 2015. These events include Elf on the Shelf, Frozen Fever and the very rewarding Make a Christmas Wish.
Make a Christmas Wish is looking to bring a little magic to everyone at the RDA (Riding for the Disabled Association) this Christmas season by encouraging people to make a small donation and in return, have their Christmas wish hung on the tree. Hear what our very own Louise Stewart (Rocket PR) has to say about her involvement in the event:
“The ideas behind Make a Christmas Wish is to get people thinking about the aspirational side of Christmas. It is a magical time when anything can happen! It is also to get people to consider others at this time of year, which can be magical for some and difficult for others. That is why we added the charity element.
What I found most rewarding about working on this event would probably have to be the seeing the posters we produced come together as well as the happy smiling faces of the children – that really made a difference!
What would my Christmas wish be? It would have to be that everyone is happy and healthy in 2016!”
Elf on the Shelf
“Elf on the Shelf is supposed to keep an eye on kids in the run up to Christmas on behalf of Santa. We’ve put a bit of a twist on this and turned it into an adult competition i.e. If they spot the elf they photograph him, put him on Facebook and state where he is. It’s almost a role reversal really!
There is one big prize, which is a Nene Court Hamper worth £250. It is full of wine, cheese, teas, coffees etc.We produced posters, a social media campaign, press release (this was on all activities) added it to ‘What’s On’ pages and promoted it to local press.
Other traditions which are similar to Elf on the Shelf would be putting out milk and biscuits for Santa to eat when he visits, listening out for sleigh bells on Christmas Eve, or tracking Santa’s progress online (which you can now do!!).“

Frozen Fever
“This is a great opportunity for Frozen fans and to meet all four Frozen Characters. They will be under cover (as you never know what the British weather will chuck at us), and the children will get to talk to them and have a photograph taken if they wish.
The popularity of the Frozen characters is outstanding; they seem to have tapped into a lot of emotions – sisters, friends, a lovable snowman – what’s not to like? I like Olaf best, a snowman who loves summer is right up my street!”
We have loved working with Nene Court on this and it has certainly got us in the festive mood!
