Do you have access to the all new LinkedIn Poll feature yet?
Fear not if you do not have access to the LinkedIn Poll feature just yet, it is slowly being rolled out to all users over the next few weeks.
This new LinkedIn feature has been designed to help you engage with other members by asking them for their perspectives about various topics. The polls feature will help businesses to understand trends and opinions and can be a great conversation starter.
How will your business use this tool? Using online polls is an easy way to ask your audience for instant feedback on just about anything. It is a handy marketing tool and a great way to stand out from the crowd – especially while the feature is brand spanking new!
The poll author will be able to select the visibility of their poll. The default visibility option is set to Anyone. Duration of the poll can be one day, three days, one week or two weeks. The author of the poll will be able to view who voted and how each person voted. In addition, the author will be able to view aggregate results displayed in a percentage format and the number of votes per option. When a poll is created by a LinkedIn Page, all admins of that LinkedIn Page will be able to see who voted and how each person voted.
You can create a poll from LinkedIn’s homepage. If you’re an admin of a LinkedIn Page, or a LinkedIn Group you can create a poll directly from the page or group’s homepage.
To create a LinkedIn Poll or to see if the feature is available to you:
- Click Start a post.
- Click Create a poll.
- In the Create a poll window, type your question and fill in the options.
- There is a minimum of two options and a maximum of four options on a poll.
- Click +Add option to add another option.
- Select the Poll duration from the dropdown.
- The default duration is one week.
- Click Next.
- Click the Edit icon to edit the post.
- Select who you want to share the poll with.
- You can add more to the post in the What do you want to talk about? field (optional).
- Click Post.
It is always worth considering: Poll authors may not ask for political opinions, health status or other sensitive data. As always, poll authors need to adhere to LinkedIn’s standard terms, including our “Do’s and Don’ts” and Professional Community Policies.
*The LinkedIn Polls feature is being gradually rolled out to all LinkedIn members. The experience will be widely available soon.
